I first made a medieval pilgrimage many years ago. The clothing was not very good. It has become better since it became easier to buy things and I got better at making items that I needed. 

My first walk started in Winchester and finished in Canterbury. I set off with 2 friends but they lasted only two days, so I finished on my own. 

It was to be a one/off just to say that I had done it, but I continued to make a pilgrimage every year since.

I have walked in France and Spain twice, but mostly I follow my own routes in the UK.
