'Rembrandt van Rijn - De Nachtwacht'

If there is one famous painter from the Netherlands, it is Rembrandt (or is it van Gogh?). Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn was born in Leiden on 15 July 1606 (or 07) and died in Amsterdam on 4 October 1669. He is one of the most important painters of the 17th century, and also a very prolific one; he painted around 300 paintings, 300 etchings and 2,000 drawings.
The Night Watch (see below, painted in 1642) is perhaps his most famous work.

Cante Alentejano is a a different way in which the field workers used to sing to while away the monotony and the effort necessary to deal with their daily work on the fiery fields in the Summer. Then it became a proper form of singing recognized by the Unesco in 2014.
