About "fediversebot" - Not What You Think!
You might see a user called "fediversebot" commenting on posts. This is NOT an AI bot, spam bot, or automated posting bot.
What it actually is:
A technical bridge account required by the ActivityPub protocol (the technology that powers the Fediverse)
Acts as a messenger that delivers replies from Mastodon users to JustBSocial
Zero automation - it only posts when a real human on Mastodon replies to your content
Think of it like a mail carrier: it doesn't write the messages, it just delivers them
Why Is This Necessary?
The Fediverse works peer-to-peer between servers, not individual users' servers. When someone on Mastodon replies to your JustBSocial post:
Their server (e.g., mastodon.social) sends the reply to our server (justbsocial.eu)
Our server needs an "identity" to receive and post that reply
fediversebot is that identity - it's like a shared mailbox for Fediverse messages
Every reply from fediversebot is clearly labeled with who actually wrote it:
