Moorlands Pub Company Limited will soon be launching a professional Mystery Shopper Service aimed specifically at the hospitality and licensed trade sector — and we are looking to build a network of experienced hospitality professionals to work with us.

We are seeking individuals with backgrounds in:
🍺 Pub Operations
🍽 Hospitality & Food Service
🎤 Entertainment Venues
🏨 Hotels & Guest Experience
🍷 Licensed Trade Management
Successful shoppers will carry out discreet venue visits and provide detailed, honest assessments from a genuine customer perspective.

✅ Front of House & First Impressions
✅ Staff Engagement & Service Quality
✅ Cleanliness & Venue Standards
✅ Food & Drink Quality
✅ Atmosphere & Customer Experience

Ideal applicants will have:
✔ Strong observation skills
✔ Hospitality industry experience
✔ Professionalism and discretion
✔ Good written reporting ability
✔ Understanding of customer service standards within the on-trade sector

That’s why we’re launching a community-led campaign to help save threatened rural and community pubs before they are lost forever.

Our mission is to:

📚 Provide hospitality training opportunities
❤️ Reinvest back into local communities

We believe pubs should once again become thriving community hubs — places where people connect, celebrate, support one another, and belong.

This is about preserving local heritage, strengthening communities, and building a sustainable future for the next generation.

💜 Ask for Angela is a nationally recognised safety initiative designed to help anyone who feels unsafe, vulnerable, threatened, harassed, or uncomfortable whilst on a date or during a social occasion. By discreetly asking a member of staff for "Angela", our team will understand that you need assistance and will help you leave the situation safely or provide support as required.

💙 Ask for Clive is a similar initiative aimed at supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community who may feel vulnerable, unsafe, threatened, or at risk whilst socialising. By asking for "Clive", you can discreetly alert our team that you require assistance, and we will act appropriately to ensure your safety and wellbeing.

Our staff receive guidance on how to respond sensitively and discreetly to anyone seeking help through these schemes.
More importantly, you do not need to use either phrase to ask for help. If at any point you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, intimidated, threatened, or simply need support whilst visiting one of our venues, please speak to a member of staff in confidence. We will always do our best to assist you.

A pub should be a place where people come together, make memories, and enjoy themselves—not somewhere where they feel vulnerable or alone.
